Stepping beyond the recent past, to a time when the world, and man, was younger, Dan takes us to a place in which primal instincts and unseen forces ruled the earth. His evocative studies in bronze reveal the poignancy of the Native American experience. Each bronze's colorful patinas are personally designed by the artist, and each base is oiled and waxed with a method similar to that used to create fine handmade furniture. The ability to display Garrett sculptures on wall surfaces creates a truly unique visual experience.
At the 1999 Cheyenne Frontier Days Art Show Dan's sculpture received the Museum Purchase Award. His piece became part of the permanent collection of the Old West Museum, Cheyenne, Wyoming. His work appears in private collections in Japan, North and South America, and Europe.
